Could be a Study Break, could be a short Sabbatical, could be a Spiritual Retreat, and it might even combine all of those. There are even 3-4 different names I use for it myself depending on the type of retreat it will be.
Retreats like these should be filled with rest, and at some point I will post about what a retreat like this looks like for me, but in the big picture, it’s not vacation.ĭifferent Pastors call it different names. I am talking about getting away from the every day trees so that you can see the forest again. Let me clarify that the retreat I am talking about is NOT vacation. The next traffic light you see will be Woodcreek Drive, take a left on Woodcreek Drive to enter the city of Woodcreek. This road takes you to Wimberley and through the Wimberley town square. Continue on this road for about 10 miles and then turn right at the junction once again there is a sign and you will remain on RR 12. About a 1/4 mile outside of downtown, turn right onto Moore Street you will still remain on RR 12 and there is a sign pointing to Wimberley. See “From Austin”.įrom San Marcos Follow Ranch Road 12 through downtown San Marcos. Worth and Waco Take I-35 South and exit Loop 1 South & follow Austin Directions. As you enter San Marcos and cross underneath IH-35, Texas Highway 80 becomes Ranch Road 12. Follow the Texas Highway 80 signs through Luling to San Marcos. At the stop sign, turn right onto Texas Highway 80. See “From San Marcos”.įrom Houston Take I-10 West to Luling and exit the highway at Exit #628 (San Marcos and Nixon). Continue to the second traffic light and turn left onto Ranch Road 12. Continue on Wonder World Drive to the traffic light at FM 2439 and turn right. Follow the sign to Wonder World Drive and turn left at the stop sign. Straight ahead you’ll see the gate to camp! Just go forward and welcome to CYJ!įrom San Antonio Take I-35 North to San Marcos and exit the highway at Exit #202 (Wonder World Drive). After about 14 miles take a right at the Woodcreek Drive traffic light to enter The City of Woodcreek. About 15 miles outside of Austin, at the Dripping Springs traffic light (immediately after Home Depot) turn left onto Ranch Road 12. Straight ahead you’ll see the gate to camp! Just go forward and welcome to CYJ!įrom Austin Take MOPAC (Loop 1) South to 290 West toward Johnson City. After about 14 miles take a right at the Woodcreek Drive traffic light to enter the city of Woodcreek. At the Dripping Springs traffic light (immediately after Home Depot) turn left onto Ranch Road 12. Continue straight and Texas 71 will become US-290 West. From Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Exit the airport and take a LEFT on TX-71 West.
